As a traditional local plant breeding company we are active in the research of high-yielding and efficient varieties for our farmers. On the one hand we preserve and promote the diversity working on several minor crops like buckwheat, millets or the Styrian scarlet runner bean, on the other hand we have hybrid breeding programs for our main crops corn and the Styrian oil pumpkin, as well as breeding programs in legumes like soybean and faba bean. Our breeding station is located in Gleisdorf/Styria using also winter nurseries in Chile and Spain. Our trial network includes several locations in Austria, as well as many other locations abroad which are handled in cooperations with other breeders or field trial service companies.

Role in the Legume Generation project

Within the Legume Generation Project we participate in the Soybean and Phaseolus Bean Innovation Communities. We will do field trials in both crops and contribute to the phenotypic evaluation of selected genetic resources. For the soybean trials we provide genotypes in maturity groups 000 to 0 and also genotypes for the food grade trial.
